Leon Hyneman
HYNEMAN, Leon, editor, b. in Montgomery county, Pa., in 1806; d. in New York city in 1880. He was a Hebrew and a Freemason, and founded the order of Female Druids. He wrote and published "Ancient York and London Grand Lodges," afterward entitled "Hyneman's Review"; edited the "Masonic Library," a collection of Masonic pamphlets; the "World's Masonic Register" (Philadelphia, 1860); and the weekly "Masonic Mirror and Keystone" (Philadelphia, 1852-'60). His sister Rebecca (Mrs. Rhyn) is a contributor to periodical literature.
