Yerkes-Carpenter

Dr. F.F. Yerkes, of Ambler, and Miss Sue M. Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Carpenter, of Mauch Chunk, were married this Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of the bride by Rev. W.Q. Bennett, pastor of the St. Paul's M.E. Church, of Mauch Chunk, of which the bride is a member.

Promptly at the appointed hour the bride and groom entered the parlor, which was tastely trimmed with palms and other greens. There were no attendants and the impressive ceremony was read by Rev. Bennett. The ring service was used. The bride wore a white dress, which was daintily trimmed with appliqué insertion and pan satin ribbon. The groom wore the conventional black.

After the wedding breakfast and many heartfelt congratulations and best wishes Dr. and Mrs. Yerkes left at 3 o'clock on an extended honeymoon of about two weeks, after which time they will reside on Butler avenue, Ambler. The bride for several years was one of the faculty of the Ambler public school.

Owing to the death of an uncle of the bride, Captain Wilhelm, who was recently killed in the Philippines, the affair was a very quiet one. Those present from this vicinity were Mrs. Bank Selner, of Ambler, sister of the groom, and Mr. Alfred Yerkes and family and Mrs. Samuel Haslett, of Hatboro.
