Lansford, Jan. 2--Daniel Tanner and George Lauer were the guest of Gotlieb Freudenberger, at Tamaqua.

Miss Edna Smith, of Hagerstown, Md., is being entertained by Dr. D.R. Davis and family.

Miss Agnes Steffe, of Minersville, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. W.J. Dornbach.

Mrs. John E. Jenkins and son David spent the week at Philadelphia as the guests of Mrs. John Niese.

David H. Dairs came home from Philadelphia to spend New Year's with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Davies.

Royersford, Jan. 2--Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Saylor and children spent a few days in Philadelphia.

Misses Sadie and Alberta Sprowles, of Frankford, Philadelphia, were the guests of the Misses Buckwalter, of Walnut street, this week.

Reuben Kerns and his mother have returned to the old homestead after a trip through the Western States.

Mrs. Hattie Wells, of Pottsville, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Walter Thompson, on Second avenue.

Norristown, Jan. 2--Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kohler on Wednesday evening entertained Dr. and Mrs. Theodore Wolf, of Newark, Del., and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wolf, of Philadelphia.

Mrs. Howard Boyd and J. Leedom Jones were awarded first honors at an 8 o' clock Wednesday evening by Miss M. Blanche Lenzi.

Professor and Mrs. Clarence Hampton of Philadelphia, were the guests of County Commissioner John Hampton this week.

Miss Fannie Dreslin, of Bridgeport, entertained a company Thursday evening.

Miss Lizzie Mock, Anselma, is visiting Mrs. Pennypacker on West Airy street.

Miss Bessie Strassburger gave a progressive euchre Tuesday. Mrs. Sarah Fitz-Gerald, Miss Helen Brendlinger and Miss Mary Hobensack were awarded the favors.

Miss Mary H. Trucksess will be married Wednesday afternoon next to Daniel I. Hallman, of Easton.

John Landis has gone to Bucks county for the winter.

William Evans has returned from Dauphin county.

Rev. W.E. Granley, of the Haws Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, was presented with a bicycle this week by members of his congregation.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Diehl, of Lehighton, are visiting the family of Joseph Bell.

Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Rambo, of Bridgeport, spent part of the week at Centreville.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Belfield will sail next Tuesday for Egypt.

B.F. Richardson has gone to South America on a business trip.

The Monday Night Club was entertained this week by Miss Norma Roop.

Mrs. Samuel O. Thompson witnessed the departure of the old year in Altoona.
