Among the children of Mr. Eagle were Samuel Eagle and Mrs. Bertolette Weidner, of Pottstown; William W. Eagle and Mrs. Dora, wife of Columbus Yorgey, and Mrs. George Mauger, of Buchananville, and Maurice W. and George W. Eagle, of Douglass Township.
An inquest was held by D. B. Mauger, Esq., Tuesday afternoon. The jurors were Jeremiah Yocom, Jacob W. Moser, Sylvester C. Wolf, Jacob Rhoads, Howard Elliott and Charles Miller. A verdict was rendered in accordance with the facts above stated.

Egolf, Peter L.
Three Grandchildren Principal Beneficiaries in Retired Lumber Merchant's Estate Worth $150,000
Last Will and Testament of Peter L. Egolf, Executed Nearly Tow Years Ago, is Read George N. Malsberger Named Executor With Security Company of Pottstown as Trustee Bequest of $40 Per Month to Housekeeper, Kate F. Ludy, During Time of Natural Life Interest of $500 to Care For Cemetery Plot Remainder, Divided Into Three Equal Parts, Given to Lineal Descendants.
Remote Proviso for Founding of Home for Aged Women if Legatees Die Without Issue
Brevity and simplicity mark the last will and testament of the late Peter L. Egolf, retired lumber merchant, who died suddenly Sunday afternoon, Jan. 9, at his home, 62 North Hanover Street, which was read before his immediate relatives yesterday morning, and admitted to probate at Norristown in the afternoon. George N. Malsberger is named executor of the will, with the Security Company of Pottstown as trustee. The estate is valued at approximately $150,000. It includes about 30 properties in the borough, together with many unimproved lots and stocks in many local institutions.
The testament is one of unusual brevity, requiring little more than two typewritten pages. In construction it is very simple. It was executed on February 24, 1914, less than two years ago, with Henry J. Snyder and Adam Kummerer as the witnesses. In brief the beneficiaries are the three surviving grandchildren of the deceased; Linda, daughter of the late Dr. E. H. Egolf, and wife of Theodore Froelich, and George Lyndell and Miss Lillias Taylor, children of the late George Lyndell Egolf, Esq., and Kate F. Ludy, who cared for deceased during the past few years.
Remembers Faithful Housekeeper
Decedent first bequeaths a number of articles of personal property, a piano, bedroom suite, watch and furniture to the grandchildren. After disposing of the personal property the entire estate is bequeathed to the Security Company of Pottstown as trustee. The income of $500 is to be applied to the care of the cemetery lot of the deceased and his father, the late Peter Egolf. A bequest of $40 monthly of the income of the estate is given Kate F. Ludy, the decedent's housekeeper, during the time of natural life. At her death the principal thereof is to revert to the Security Company of Pottstown as trustee of the estate.
The remainder of the entire income is divided into three equal parts. One third is given to the granddaughter, Mrs. Linda Egolf Froelich, wife of Theodore Froelich. In the event of her death it is to revert to her lawful issue. One-third is bequeathed to the grandson, George Lyndell Egolf, for his maintenance and education, the principal thereof to be paid to him when he attains the age of 25 years. One third is given to the granddaughter, Lillias Taylor, under the same provisions as her brother.
Remote Proviso
In the event of the death of the three grandchildren, dying without issue or before attaining the age of 25 years, the entire estate shall be disposed of by the Security Company of Pottstown acting as trustee in founding and maintaining "The Peter L. Egolf Home for Aged Women in Pottstown and Vicinity" of indigent means. "The fund shall be managed by my trustee," the will reads, "in conjunction with three residents of Pottstown of good business judgement and charitable instincts who shall form an executive committee." Deceased dwells briefly on the duties of such trustee and committee in the conduction of the home. The executor is given the power to dispose of any or all real estate with the exception of the residence at 62 North Hanover Street, and the property of Mrs. Egolf's father, situated at 312 North Manatawny street. The Manatawny street property would thus be used in accordance with Mr. Egolf's wishes to found a home for aged women should his grandchildren die without issue or before reaching the age of 25 years. Mr. Egolf's residence on Hanover street will eventually go to the grandson, George Lyndell Egolf, as a portion of his inheritance.
